Bio

My journey in the arts started at a young age. When still a high school student, I took extracurricular design and painting courses. At the age of 17, I was hired as model making artist in an FX art-shop. I followed this passion by completing a career in set design at the University of El Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a student there, I was awarded a scholarship to study for a full year at the Art and Theater Department of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. When I returned to Argentina I started working full time as a set designer in cinema, theater, advertising, installations and exhibitions. I worked on this field, specialized in FX, for over twenty years, first in Argentina and then in Canada, where I moved in 2003. Since 2007, I devote my time to oil painting and have participated in group and solo exhibitions. My experiences as a scenographer deeply impact my paintings; these influences are well reflected in the dramatic and theatrical qualities of my work, and in the goal of treating the viewer as a spectator that co-creates the worlds that I propose.
